Description

This project investigates the secondary metabolites in different parts of the cannabis plant, including inflorescences, leaves, stem barks, and roots. A comprehensive profiling of 14 cannabinoids, 47 terpenoids, 3 sterols, and 7 flavonoids was conducted using advanced chromatography techniques. The study aims to provide a baseline for future clinical research, exploring the therapeutic potential of various cannabis plant parts beyond the commonly studied cannabinoids. It also highlights the "entourage effect," suggesting that a combination of compounds may enhance medicinal efficacy.

Pathway Description:

This project involved chemically extracting cannabinoids, terpenoids, sterols, and flavonoids from cannabis plant parts using methanol. Chromatographic methods, including LC-MS, GC-MS, and LC-UV-MS, were used to analyze the compounds. The methods were validated for precision and repeatability. Finally, comprehensive chemical profiles of different cannabis parts were generated for therapeutic evaluation.
